A serious wine tasting with 17 wines -- 11 reds and 6 refreshing whites. Priced from HK$65 to HK$190, these bottles are great for wedding and parties. To remove the brand factor, all the wines will be tasted blind to ensure objectivity.
All 11 reds were from France, mostly from Bordeaux. The featured selection includes:
- Friendly, straight-forward, and fruity wines
- Traditionally made French wines
- New World style wines from Bordeaux and South of France
- Wines that have earned great ratings from Robert Parker
- Wines made by famous French producers
For the 6 white wines, we factored in more diversity. Varietals include Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, and Bordeaux blend (Sauvignon Blanc + Semillon). Wine regions include France, USA and Chile.
It was a great turnout with ~30 people. Most tried all 17 wines -- which was no easy task as much concentration and few re-tastings were needed to identify the favorites.
