ROUND III:   The ultimate battle:  A Bordeaux Super-Second vs. A Founding Father of US Cult Wines
Chateau Leoville Las Cases 1999
Léoville Las Cases is a Super-Second, perceived to be in the same quality grade and prestige as Chateau Latour and Chateau Lafite.
"The 1999 Leoville Las Cases possesses a dense purple color as well as classic aromas of vanilla, black cherries, and currants mixed with subtle toasty oak. The wine is medium-bodied with sweet tannin, yet it remains young, backward, and unevolved (unusual for a 1999). Its extraordinary purity and overall harmony give it a character all its own. This excellent Las Cases will be at its finest between 2006-2022."  --  Robert Parker 91 pts.
vs.
Dunn Winery Cabernet Sauvignon 1999
Dunn Vineyards is located in the Howell Mountain AVA.  This property is meticulously maintained and is responsible for some of Napa's first cult Cabs.  Dunn produces about 5,000 cases of Wine a year.
